David Hudson
David Hudson is the founder and CEO of Aluta Strategies, a digital-first communications consultancy that partners with mission-driven organizations, academic institutions, and select private-sector clients to elevate their impact.
With nearly 15 years of experience at the highest levels of digital strategy, David has helped shape national conversations and guide influential institutions through moments of opportunity and change. He served as Associate Director of Content at the White House during the Obama Administration, where he helped develop new, more accessible ways to engage Americans across the country. He later led the Motion Picture Association’s global digital communications operation, advancing policy priorities on behalf of the world’s leading film studios.
A staunch believer in the role of strong, independent journalism, David serves on the board of States Newsroom, a national network of nonprofit news outlets focused on state government, policy, and politics. He is also a member of the advisory committee of the National Press Foundation, which supports and trains journalists navigating today’s complex media landscape. Originally from Richmond, Virginia, David is a proud graduate of the University of Virginia, with bachelor’s degrees in English and African American & African Studies.
He now lives in Washington, D.C., with his wife and two sons. When he’s not working, he’s likely searching for a new and interesting documentary to watch, cheering on his older son at soccer practice, or squeezing in a quick Peloton ride.
