Emily Lenzner, Founder and Executive Director
Emily A. Lenzner is the founder and executive director of 4EYE Film Center. Prior to
founding 4EYE, Emily spent most of her career in strategic communications most
recently running communications and public affairs for the Motion Picture Association,
the global advocate for the Hollywood Studios and other companies in the motion
picture, home video, and television industries.
Before joining the MPA in 2019, Emily served as Senior Vice President-Communications
for Atlantic Media, overseeing all corporate communications and working closely with its
business units, publications, including The Atlantic, Quartz, National Journal, and
Government Executive Media Group (2013 – 2019).
An avid supporter of the Arts, Emily also serves as an executive member of the board of
trustees of the Shakespeare Theatre Company in Washington, DC.
Emily’s career in media and communications began in the White House during the first
Clinton Administration, working with George Stephanopoulos. Emily was reunited with
George in 2003 when she joined ABC News to run communications for his Sunday
public affairs show, This Week, as well as Nightline, and the larger Washington bureau.
She went on to serve as Managing Director at public affairs and political consulting firm
SKDKnickerbocker from 2010-2013, where she managed and executed a variety of
national media campaigns for various corporations, non-profit organizations, and
advocacy initiatives. She has also worked for National Public Radio, where she ran
media relations and served as the number two communications executive for the
network.
Earlier in her career, Emily was a producer for a local new program at KIRO TV in
Seattle and worked for a couple years in film production and development, most notably
with Diane Keaton and her company, Blue Relief.
Emily was named in-house PR Professional of the Year by PR Week in 2016 and is a
2016 PR WEEK Top Woman in PR. A native Washingtonian, she graduated from
Vassar College with a BA in English.
