Rina Alvarez, Board Member

Rina Alvarez is a philanthropic strategist and connector with over 20 years of experience in

developing and integrating large-scale fundraising, marketing and community engagement

strategies.  Rina has leadership experience and demonstrated results in both corporate and

nonprofit environments with a deep commitment to bridging the two sectors and advancing

philanthropy across a wide range of communities and causes. 

 

Rina most recently served as Director of Donor & Advisor Engagement at the Community

Foundation of Sarasota County and the Midwest Regional Director of Development at National

Philanthropic Trust (NPT).  Rina also served as Director of Diversity & Inclusion for global law

firm Kirkland & Ellis.  After launching her career in the international media group of the Leo

Burnett Company in Chicago, Rina served as the Director of Resource Development &

Marketing at El Valor, one of the largest nonprofits serving Latino families in the Midwest. 

 

Rina is a Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP) and a 21/64 Certified Philanthropic Advisor. 

  She earned her MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management with

dual concentrations in Management Strategy and Marketing and a Bachelor’s Degree in

Sociology from St. Mary’s College in South Bend, IN.
